iPhone 5C: why the naysayers are wrong to say Apple is in trouble...

"The doom mongers misunderstand the nature of Apple's market share when they claim the recent high-cost iPhone launches showed an error of judgement"

This article is about the new iphone 5C , it is one of the newest iphones out right now it got released the the same time as the iphone 5S , the difference between these two iphones is that the 5C is plastic and the but it uses the same software as the 5S. Many people believe that apple are in trouble due to the fact that they are making the 5C cheeper than the 5S, this attracts more customers because the iphone 5C is £100 cheeper; many customers would see this as saving money.

I believe that apple are not in trouble because i think they are trying to think of new ideas and designs for apple, to show unique skill and individuality within the company .

                                                                 GTA 5

A screenshot from GTA 5

The GTA series certainly isn't female-friendly. Loved by teenagers, it has become one itself: yet in the 16 years of its existence, it hasn't once offered players the chance to experience its sprawling scenery and high-octane thrills as a female character. In the latest instalment, released last week, women are once again pushed to the margins.
You can rescue one whose car has broken down, spy on another having sex with her boyfriend while she checks her phone, and, of course, visit the obligatory strip club and "make it rain" bank notes. There aren't any female characters to root for, be impressed by, or even fall in love with. It was the same in the last game: women were there to nag you, or be bribed – whether with fancy dinners or cold, hard cash – into having sex with you. Women are GTA's wallpaper.
Target Audience
The target audience for this story will be young adults and teens, also i believe this story will attract both sides of gender because its talking about how females are being represented within a male dominated video game. if we were talking demographically then the target audience would be the groups D/E.
The Impact
I believe that this story has a big impact because the game is so well known around the world and its one the most popular games created so many people might not like the new image of gta. This game creates a huge impact because it involves more of a male dominated story line and women are looked down upon even more in GTA5

Autumn brings a chill for BlackBerry

Bleak results, rushed out early, and another huge round of layoffs signal that the mobile pioneer's time is running out

With the fall of Nokia looming over him, this weekend will be an uncomfortable one for Thorsten Heins, chief executive of BlackBerry. While the Finnish firm sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft for €5.4bn (£4.5bn) this month, questions are swirling as to how long BlackBerry – which signalled its distress in August by putting itself up for sale – can survive, and in what form.
This weekend was meant to be a new start for the company, with an attempt to turn back the clock to when it was the star of the tech world by offering its famous BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) software free for iPhones and Android phones. But rivals such as WhatsApp are already on both, with more users, while BlackBerry's base is dwindling both among consumers and businesses. BBM's arrival on the other platforms is two years too late, says the insider.

The Rise and Rise of UGC

What is ment by the term 'citizen journalism' ?

citizen journalism is when private individuals do essentially what professional reporters do - report information. That information can take many forms, from a podcast editorial to a report about a city council meeting on a blog. It can include text, pictures, audio and video. But it's basically all about communicating information of some kind.

What was one of the first examples of news being generated by ordinary people ?

One of the first examples of news being generated by ordinary people was the Rodney King story, Rodney Glen King was an African-American construction worker who, while on parole for robbery, became nationally known after being beaten by Los Angeles police officers following a high-speed car chase on March 3, 1991. George Holliday, a resident in the nearby area, witnessed the beating and videotaped much of it from the balcony of his nearby apartment.

What is a Gatekeeper?

The organisation which decides the types of text that is/is not news and whether it will broadcast the content provided by the Citizen journalists.

How has the role of a gatekeeper changed

A gatekeepers job role has become more important due to it having small access in the past because it used to do self representations with low income groups and youth groups. However it has now gained its own voice through the use of citizen journalism
